Glock 36 Handgun Review: Reliable Compact Back-up or Concealed Carry Gun With Good Stopping Power
Glock 36 is a slim compact .45 automatic handgun. This version is a slim version of Glock 30. The main difference between Glock 30 and 36 comes from the single stack design of the magazine. Of course this comes with the price of less bullets in the magazine. Glock 36 has only 6 round capacity, compared to 10 rounds of Glock 30. It's slim size makes it easier for concealed carry.
One of the main advantages of the Glock 36 handgun is that it uses .45 auto rounds. This caliber of rounds are well known for their stopping power, even against determined threats. Since the Moro Rebellion of the Philippine-American war, the stopping power of .45 rounds aare very well known. If you are using a compact, concealed carry gun, as a backup, you want it to have stopping power. If someone is posing a threat to your life it may be your last chance to stop it.
The slim small design makes it easy for concealed carry. You can put this little gun in a Galco Skyops holster, and tuck your shirt over it. When concealment is more important than drawing your weapon fast, this is a very important advantage.
One of the best features of Glock guns are that they are very reliable. If you are using a Glock gun as instructed, you can shoot hundreds, even thousands of rounds without jamming. This is very important in a handgun, because when it is a life-or death situation you are using a gun and if it jams, you are dead meat.
The material of Glock 36 is a rough polymer, very durable, and weighs 90% less than steel. You can use this gun for years and it will not show any wear and tear. It is tough and will be in working condition, even in less than ideal conditions. Sandstorm, windstorm, heavy rain, freezing cold or whatever situation you might find yourself in, this little Glock 36 will function at least as well as you do.
The Glock 36 is also very versatile, you can use many accessories with this little handgun. There are many different holsters for concealed carry, laser sights, tactical flashlights and other accessories.
Glock 36 has all the advantages of general safety mechanisms of a Glock gun. Trigger safety mechanism blocks the trigger from accidental discharge by applied lateral force. The firing pin safety blocks the firing pin channel, which makes it impossible for the firing pin to hit the primer of a round. The drop safety guides the trigger bar in a ramp that is released only when direct rearward pressure is applied to the trigger.
All of these safety mechanisms deactivate when the trigger is pulled, and activate again when the trigger is released. Therefore, with Glocks, the single rule is "Finger away from handgun is safe. Finger at trigger, ready to fire". This also provides simplicity at times of stress.
With all the usual reliability, safety, and durability of Glock brand handguns, along with small size and stopping power of .45 rounds, the Glock 36 makes a very good choice of a concealed carry gun, or as a backup weapon.
